Exam structure
ISC Class 12 papers are conducted by the CISCE, usually across February and March. • Most subjects carry a 70–80 mark theory paper plus 20–30 marks of practical, project or internal assessment. • Mathematics is a three-hour paper with a compulsory Section A and optional Sections B and C. • Physics, Chemistry and Biology each have a theory paper plus a separately assessed practical examination. • English is two papers: English Language and Literature in English, both compulsory for all candidates. • 15 minutes of reading time is given before writing begins.

- 1Recognise the form: a product of an algebraic and an exponential function, so use integration by parts.

- 3Choose u by the ILATE order — algebraic before exponential — so u = x and dv = e^x dx.

- 6Integrate the remaining term: = x e^x − e^x + C.
- 7Factorise for the cleanest final form: = e^x(x − 1) + C. Never omit the constant of integration.
